1. Kharif Crops

  • July , August , September , October.
  • Harvest – September to October
  • Monsoon Crops (Needs lot of water).
  • Northern India :- Rice , Cotton , Bajra , Maize , Jowar ,etc.
  • Southern India :- Rice , Maize , Ragi , Groundnuts ,etc.


2. Rabi Crops

  • October , November , December , January , February.
  • Harvest – February to April
  • Winter Season Crops (Less water and less temperature).
  • Northern India :- Wheat , Gram , Rapeseed , Barley ,etc.
  • Southern India :- Rice , Maize , Ragi , Groundnut ,etc.


3. Zaid Crops

  • Sowing between March and June (b/w Kharif and Rabi season).
  • Requires warm & dry weather for growth and a longer day-length for flowering.
  • Northern India :- Vegetables , Fruits , Fodder ,etc.
  • Southern India :- Vegetables , Fodder , Rice ,etc.
